York University’s Vanier College wanted to revive the Vandoo magazine, a magazine that has been out of publication for years, in 2019. Using doodles done by those in the writing club, they actively looked for submissions and content for the magazine. I had the freedom to do as I pleased for the design, as long as “it’s fun”, so I recorded the conversation we had during the meeting, and used it for the designs of the cover.
With a tight deadline, I completed this magazine for them while also completing my degree in University. This project required a lot of communication because the editors and I needed to communicate with the writers in how to lay out their poems and prose so that it would flow with their story, as most of their files were Word documents and were formatted incorrectly to each device.
